Help filling a gap

I need to fill this gap in this fingerboard. Using dust and CA leaves a much darker area than the natural bloodwood....
Any sugestions?

I'm thinking mabe loosen the binding to the right of the gap, shorten it slightly then reglue. Just a thought.

If you don't want to reglue the joint, then take planed off curls of bloodwood to fill it. pretty simple and will be near invisible

Thanks Michael.. thats what I had in mind and I guess that may be the best solution.
